We support charitable associations of our trust:

This includes, for example, the parents' initiative of the Internal 3 ward (children's cancer ward) of Dr. von Hauner's Children's Hospital.

For example, the association improves the care situation on the ward and co-finances the expansion of the transplant department.

We also donate to the Menschen für Kinder e.V. association, which promotes research into rare diseases in children.

In addition it prepares seriously, partly chronically ill children by many small and large actions somewhat joy in the long time

the illness and recovery (e.g. sailing trip for children with cancer).

8th Wetzlar Autumn Conference "Modern Optics Production"

Already for the 8th time Optence invited to the Wetzlar autumn conference "Modern optical production". Over the years, the conference has become an established event in the industry.

HOFBAUER OPTIK also exhibited at this event together with TH Deggendorf/ TechnologieCampus Teisnach.

In addition to the optical giants such as Leica, Edmund, Schott, Ohara, Optotech, Satisloh, Schneider and Mahr as well as 20 other exhibitors, HOFBAUER OPTIK presented its product range in the field of optical straightness and position measurement technology as well as angle and centering measurement technology, especially for aspheres.

This year, the event offered two innovations: The presentations were translated into English by simultaneous translators in order to make the event attractive for international guests as well. Furthermore, there were parallel sessions for the first time: The international partners of the network "Photonics Finland" organized a session on virtual and augmented reality. The participants were able to choose between lectures on current innovations in the field of coating or VR/AR.

Of course, most of the presentations remained as usual and appreciated: the opportunity to visit companies in the region, the accompanying exhibition with almost 30 exhibitors and the networking dinner were on the agenda again this year.

Successful test of the DaOS prototype

After a total of three years of research and development, the prototype of the In-Situ Deflectometric acquisition of Optical Surfaces measurement technology DaOS could now be tested and evaluated on a flat test object.

After the respective polishing steps, in-situ measurements were carried out in the machine using the newly developed traverse with vignetting field diaphragm sensor ELWIMAT from Hofbauer.

For referencing, all measurements were also carried out on an SSI-A interferometer in the measuring room of the TC-Teisnach.

Result:

Accuracy < 60 nm PV and < 20 nm rms. Especially long-wave deviations are evaluated very reliably and corrected during the next polishing step.

Systematic influences due to different test specimen supports as well as temperature gradients in the production environment can be set by known process parameters.
